Why do you play the NBC chimes at the top of the hour? Are you affiliated with the National Broadcasting Company?
No, I have no connection to the National Broadcasting Company. The chimes are played in an historical context as it is the very first radio jingle. It also simulates a top of the hour station identification as heard in the early days of radio. An interesting side note. NBC used 4 Chimes only once… during World War II as a signal to call in key employess to their stations.
